# Adding a New Role

### How to add a new role?

1. Click on the **administration cog icon**
2. Click on **roles**
3. Finally click **add**

Then you can enter in the name of the role and the purpose so that you, and any other staff (present and future) will know the intent of this role's permissions.

The **next step** is choosing the **Role Permissions** by ticking the appropriate **checkboxes**.
