# CASC Status and Eligibility Requirements

### Why CASC Status Matters
A key eligibility factor for GASDS is whether the organisation is registered as a **CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club)**. CASCs are **not permitted** to use the Community Buildings method.

infoodle must therefore know whether your organisation is a CASC to ensure the correct claiming options are available.

### Setting CASC Status in infoodle
Navigate to:
**Finance  > Gift Aid > Settings > Charitable Organisation**

You will see the option:
**Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC): Yes / No**

Once set, this value should remain stable. Changing it affects eligibility and should therefore trigger a warning.

### Eligibility Summary

| Organisation Type | General Method | Community Buildings |
| --- | --- | --- |
| CASC | Allowed | Not allowed |
| Non-CASC | Allowed | Allowed |

If CASC status is not set, infoodle will prompt the user to set it before proceeding with GASDS.
