# Configure Dashboards for a Role

By default, users will have a dashboard awaiting them to choose which widgets and settings would be most useful. If you wish - you can setup a dashboard for a role to ensure the best onboarding experience for them - or update all users with that role to a new dashboard. This can be really useful when you want them to provide a controlled interface and reduce required learnings.

To do this - go to the roles screen - and there you see the 'Dashboard' button to the right of the roles name.

Click this to take you to the dashboard screen - in configure mode.

You will see the same dashboard edit screen that you see for your own login - but with this information at the top.

1. Allow user to edit the dashboard.

Disabling this option will remove the Add widget and the edit options.
2. Back

Return to the Roles screen
3. Delete Dashboard

This will remove the link between the users dashboard and this configured one. They will have the same widgets they currently have configured. For those who had read-only dashboards, they can now edit them.
4. Reset All Users' Dashboard

This updates the dashboards for all the users with the current role to the new configuration.

Note that changes do not need to be saved - as you edit the configuration the changes are saved.

You can also update a specific users dashboard by going to their settings tab on their profile and clicking 'Reset to Default Dashboard'
