Setting the Claim Date Range
When creating or editing a claim, the user must specify the date range for the claim.
Rules:
- The date range must fall within the selected financial year
- Claims may overlap, but infoodle will warn the user
- Transactions already included in another claim will not be duplicated
Why Overlapping Is Allowed
Some organisations receive data from multiple sources at different times (e.g., parishes submitting data late). Allowing overlapping date ranges ensures that late‑arriving transactions can still be included in a claim.
Default Start Date
infoodle will suggest:
- The first day of the tax year (6 April), or
- The day after the previous claim ended
Method‑Specific Requirements
Depending on the claiming method selected for the year:
- General Method - Requirements > GASDS > Donations
- Community Buildings Method - Requirements > GASDS > Community Buildings
