# Custom Fields

### What are custom fields?

Custom fields is one way that allows you to configure infoodle to suit your organisation. They can be used for storing data against people, households, organisations, and groups.

**Some examples of how you can use custom fields are:**

- What **role** does a person have? Are they a Member, Donor, Staff, or Volunteer?
- Do you need to record how they **contacted** your organisation? Was it through your website, a referral, a phone call, or an email?
- Do you want to record a particular **date**? For example, initial contact, expiry date, membership date, follow up dates, etc.
- Or Diabetes Type, Blood Type, Education Level, and many many more.

### Where to edit custom fields?
