# Edit receipt transactions for pledges

A pledge line that has been receipted cannot be lowered or unticked, because the donor holds a receipt for it. If you try, the save is refused with "The pledge allocation of $25.00 has been receipted and cannot be changed. Void the receipt first if it needs to change." Nothing on the transaction is changed, including its other lines and the **Total Amount**.
