# Editing a Group

Sometimes the aspects of a group may change. Read on to learn how to edit a group.

1. Search for the group you want to edit.

- 1 - **Move Group** - this provides you with the ability to move the group attach it as a subgroup of an existing group, or, if this group is a subgroup, you can set it as a new primary group. For further details on Move Group, see: [Moving Groups](/v1/docs/moving-groups)
- 2 - **Name of the Group** - you can change this to the desired name
- 3 - **Type of Group** - assign the required Group Type category that you want this group to be associated with. For details, see: [Group Types](/v1/docs/group-types)
- 4 - **Purpose of the group** - free text to describe what purpose this group has.
- 5 & 6 - **Hibernation and Expiry dates** - if the group has a date limited purpose you can set the dates on which this should occur. For details on these functions, see: [Hibernating and Expiring a Group](/v1/docs/hibernating-and-expiring-a-group)
- 7 - **Group Usage**
  - **Tasks** - this controls whether group members can have tasks assigned. This applies to To-Dos, Rosters and Events. For further information, see: [Group Tasks](/v1/docs/group-tasks)
  - **Content** - this controls whether group members can see any Notes or Library files. For further information, see: [Group Content](/v1/docs/group-content)
- 8 - **Filter data** - adding details here will provide you options when using the **Groups - Advanced Search** function. For more information on this, see: [Groups and Advanced Search](/v1/docs/groups-and-advanced-search)
- 9 - **Save and Cancel** - select these buttons as required
- 10 - **Delete** - use this is you want to remove this group from your infoodle. Note that there are a few things to consider, and a choice to make in regards to either indicating that the contact is now a past member of the parent group, or that they should be removed from the parent group (if this group is a subgroup).

1. Click the **Save** button at the bottom of the screen when you have finished.
