# File Upload

The **File upload** item under the **Generic** fields section provides the option of uploading files through a form. Files include: .pdf documents, .jpg images, or text files such as .doc files. Select and drag this item into the form like you would with any other item, and configure it accordingly.

Selecting the blue **Library** button will allow you to choose the file upload location, with location options including; Library, Person, or Household. The sub-locations will depend on what folder structures you have setup.

Once the Library has been configured, the form is ready to upload files. From the live form, selecting the **Add File** button will open the computer browser for the user to upload a document:

After the user has submitted the form and the form has been processed and approved, the file will be uploaded to the location that was configured in the form builder.
