# Giving Number Settings

Giving Numbers can optionally now have a prefix, a suffix and/or a fixed length as well as be autocreated if preferred. Lets see how easy it is to setup Giving Numbers:

1. Click **Administration** on the Navigation menu on the left hand side.
2. Click **System** and then **Giving Numbers**.

1. There are a number of options that you can set in the Giving numbers screen by ticking the relevant boxes.
2. To set the prefix or suffix, tick the first box entitled **When adding new contacts, automatically add the next giving number** in order for the prefix and / the suffix options to be available.

1. When adding a prefix or a suffix, note that the number is still the unique part - i.e. you can only have that number once in the system. Also, the prefix and suffix can only be letters a to z (or A to Z), no spaces, numbers or none-letters.
2. Click **Save**.

All setup ready to be used.
