# Labels

Labels are printed stickers you can use to identify and communicate with people in your database. Use them for address labels on **envelopes**, **name badges**, or any other **custom label format** your organisation needs.

Labels in infoodle are produced as a **PDF** that you download and **print on standard sheets** of sticky labels.

## What you can print labels for

- **Address labels** — for mailing letters or newsletters to individuals, households, or groups
- **Name labels** — for events, meetings, or check-in
- **Custom content labels** — any combination of contact fields using personalisations (e.g. first name, last name, address, custom fields)

## Before you start

Labels require **Label Formats** to be configured first. A Label Format defines the physical dimensions of the label sheet (number of labels per sheet, label size, margins). This is set up by your infoodle **Administrator**.

1. Click Contact on the Navigation menu.
2. Click Labels in the sub-menu.

## Common issues

### Labels not downloading?

When you click **Create for All**, infoodle generates a PDF and downloads it automatically. If nothing appears, your browser may be blocking pop-ups. Look for a pop-up blocked notification in your browser's address bar, allow pop-ups for infoodle, and try again.

### Labels not lining up on the sheet?

Check your [Label Format](/v1/docs/label-formats) settings — the dimensions need to match the physical label sheet exactly. Use the **Test** button on the **Generate tab** to preview the first page before printing the full run.
