# Pledge Status

Each pledge has a status which is helpful to describe what circumstance the pledge is in.

#### Active

This is the status that is used for all pledges that are created. It identifies that there are dates of the pledge that are awaiting processing. A pledge will remain active for up to a year from the date of the last paid pledge. For example

The pledge will remain active through until 31st May next year (2027) because its a year since the last payment. If the pledge continued for a period after May next year then it would continue to be active whilst the pledge has dates waiting to be fulfilled

This is done in order to give the donor the opportunity to provide a catch-up payment of 1 or more payments, or start paying again. In both cases the 'clock' will restart for the duration of when the pledge is deemed Active.

If administrators determine that the pledge is not likely to be fulfilled they can edit the pledge to set the duration to a more realistic date e.g. 31st May in this example.

#### Closed

A pledge is set to closed automatically by infoodle. Each morning a check is made to see whether the pledge has been fully paid, or has been 12 months since the last payment as described above.

e.g. A one of pledge payment, once paid (which could be up to a year later) will be closed once infoodle has received the pledge payment.
