Article summary

Where supported, infoodle will automatically retry payments that have failed where allowed by the payment gateway automatically according to rules you identify in the Payment Method:

On occasions a payment may fail. There are a number of reasons why it fails, and the notification email address for this payment method will be kept informed of any issues. If the failure is because of insufficient funds, then you are allowed to retry the payment up to 3 times (this is sometimes referred to as Dunning). infoodle will automatically recognise this and perform the retries according to your configuration setup in the payment method.

For each retry there are 3 options:

  1. Retry after a day or more. When infoodle receives notification of the failure, it adds this many days to the current date and schedules a new payment

  2. Don't retry this payment. infoodle will not do any further processing on this specific payment - other than notify the administrator

  3. Suspend the mandate. infoodle will mark all future payments as 'Suspended' so that no further payments will be taken

Notification

The email address identified in the payment method is notified that this retry has been scheduled.

Activity on the Form

A message is added to the payment history of a form stating that this payment is being rescheduled.
