# Valid Field Formats

Filing your claim to the HMRC has very specific requirements. infoodle performs a range of validation checks prior to filing for you, but also presents errors onto the review screen for you to correct.

## Names

To correct errors in names, edit their profile.

| Firstname | Must be present |
| --- | --- |
|  | Must only contain letters A to Z (or a to z), an apostrophe (') or a dash (-). Anything else is invalid, e.g. a space |

| Lastname | Must be present |
| --- | --- |
|  | Must only contain letters A to Z (or a to z), numbers (0 to 9), a space, a comma (,), a full stop (.), an open round bracket (, or a closed round bracket ), an ampersand (&), an apostrophe ('), a dash (-), Anything else is invalid |

## Addresses

To correct errors in the country, edit their profile. Other fields in error can be changed on the Gift Aid error screen or the persons profile.

#### If the donor's country is theUK:

| Household name or number | Must be present |
| --- | --- |
| Post code | Must be present |
|  | Must be a valid postcode format. e.g. SA1 1AA. So two letters, a number, a space, a number, 2 letters |
| Country | UK |
| Is Overseas | Must not be ticked |

#### If the donor's country is *not* the UK:

| Household name or number | Optional |
| --- | --- |
| Post code | Optional |
| Country | Anything but UK |
| Is Overseas | Must be ticked |
