# Processing fee lines

If the pledge came from a form where the donor covered the processing fee, a payment of a whole date that no other payment has touched is saved as two lines: one on the pledge's account code, and one for the fee on the fee's account code. A part payment is saved as one line, with no separate fee line.

On the **Edit Transaction** screen, the two lines count as one amount on the date. **Allocate** shows the total of both, and neither shows as a transaction line.

- **You leave the date's amount as it is:** both lines stay as they are.
- **You change the date's amount:** both lines are replaced when you save, so the new lines get new **Transaction IDs**. If the new amount still pays the whole date, the fee goes on its own line again. If it only part pays the date, it is saved as one line.
- **You untick the date:** both lines are removed when you save.
