A workflow is a series of automated actions.
For example, when a new person is added to the database, they will automatically be added to the new Contact group and sent a welcome email.
Another example could be when a person dies, the date field is set, and a follow up task is triggered for the pastoral care team to visit the spouse on the 1st anniversary.

In order to have access to workflows you first need to be given permission in your role. Permission is set up in Administration/Roles.
