Removing a widget hides it from your dashboard so the things you do not use stop taking up space. Your dashboard only changes for you, so removing a widget does not affect what anyone else on your infoodle site sees.

Before you start
Role Permissions
Removing a widget does not need a specific role permission, but your administrator must have left dashboard editing turned on for your role. Most roles have this on by default.

If you do not see an X icon on the top right of your widgets, your administrator has locked the dashboard layout for your role. Contact your administrator if you would like that changed.
Remove a widget
Each widget on your dashboard has a small X icon in the top right of its header strip, next to the pencil edit icon. Clicking the X removes the widget from your dashboard.
- Find the widget you want to remove on your dashboard.
- Click the X icon at the top right of the widget header.
- infoodle asks you to confirm with the message This widget will be removed, ok?
- Click OK to confirm. The widget slides up and disappears from your dashboard.
The change is saved straight away. The next time you log in, the removed widget will still be gone.
If you click the X by accident, click Cancel on the confirmation prompt and the widget stays in place.
Bringing a removed widget back
Removing a widget does not delete the data behind it. The widget just stops appearing on your dashboard. You can put it back at any time from the Add Widgets picker.

Common questions
Does removing a widget affect anyone else's dashboard?
No. Each person on your infoodle site has their own dashboard. Removing a widget only changes what you see when you log in. Other people keep their widgets where they had them.
Does removing a widget delete the data it was showing?
No. The widget is a window onto information that lives elsewhere in infoodle, for example birthdays, notes, finance transactions, or to-do items. Removing the widget hides that window, but the underlying records are untouched and you can still see them through their normal pages. Adding the widget back later will show the same data.
Can I remove several widgets at once?
No. You remove widgets one at a time by clicking the X on each one. If you want to start fresh, remove the widgets you do not want, then click Add Widgets to pick the ones you do.
Why can't I see the X icon on my widgets?
Your administrator has turned off dashboard editing for your role. When this is set, the X and pencil icons do not appear. Ask your administrator to enable dashboard editing for your role if you would like to customise your dashboard.
I removed a widget by mistake. Can I undo it?
There is no undo button, but you can put the widget back. Click Add Widgets, tick the widget that you just removed, then close the picker. Any options you had configured on the widget, for example a particular calendar or group filter, will need to be set again, because removing a widget clears its configuration.
