A reminder that role permissions are what a user can see and do inside infoodle. Each role is made up of a set of permissions that grant access to specific areas (like People, Groups, Finance, Forms) or allow certain actions (like editing records, sending emails, or viewing reports).
When you assign a role to a user, you’re giving them all the permissions included in that role.

Who can edit a role?

Editing a role is a permission that is only available to an infoodle administrator. They need to have the role permissions of:

  • Create Accounts and Roles
  • List All Roles

How to edit a role?

  1. Click on the administration cog icon in the top right
  2. Then click on Roles
  3. Click on Edit to the right of the role you wish to edit
  4. Make the changes to the role permissions as desired
  5. Click Save when completed

What are members?

Members of roles are the people that have been assigned to this role. Click on members and you can see the list of all who have been assigned this role, the date and times of their login activity, or activity on the site.

Warning:
  • Changes affect every user with that role.
  • Removing permissions can block access they previously had.
  • Adding powerful permissions increases risk - this should be done with caution.
  • Always review before saving. Check Role Information Details if you are unfamiliar with each permission.
  • Consider duplicating a role first. For major changes, create a copy so you can test safely without disrupting existing users.
