Bulk Group Changes

Prev Next

infoodle gives you two different places to make bulk changes to groups, depending on the scope of what you need to do:

Scope Where to go
Changes to one group's members (permissions, logins) The group's Functions menu
Changes to every group on your site (action status, content status, hibernation, expiry, membership sync) Administration → Group Syncs

Changes to a single group's members

These actions are available from the Functions dropdown on any group's home page. They affect the group you're currently viewing only.

Action What it does
Bulk change permissions to Group members Changes every member's permission level (Administrator, Full member, View only, or Past member) in one step
Create Logins for all Group Members Sends login emails to every member who doesn't already have an active login, and assigns them a role

For full instructions on both of these, see Group Functions.

Site-wide changes to all groups

These actions are available in Administration section under Group Syncs section. They apply to every group on your site at once — including groups you are not a member of.

Action What it does
Resync all groups Reviews and fixes parent-child group membership mismatches
Action status Turns task availability on or off across all groups
Content status Turns content visibility on or off across all groups
Hibernation date Hibernates or reactivates every group at once
Expiry date Expires or reactivates every group at once

For full instructions on all five of these, see Group Syncs.

Which one do I need?

  • One group is wrong — use the Functions menu on that group
  • All groups need the same change — use Administration → Group Syncs
  • Members are missing from a parent group — use Resync in Group Syncs
