Once a group exists, you can add people to it as members. Members are contacts in your tenant who participate in the group — they can be assigned tasks, included in rosters, contacted in bulk, and counted in reports about the group.
Before you start
The group must already exist. See Adding a Group if you need to create one.
The person you want to add must already be a contact. If they are not yet a contact, add them first under People & Households.
You need permission to manage members of this group. If the Add Members button isn't visible on the group page, ask the group's administrator or your infoodle administrator to give you the right role.
Step 1 — Open the group page
- Click Groups in the left navigation.
- Click into the group you want to add members to.
The group's page opens with the current members listed and an Add Members button should be there in purple.

Step 2 — Open the Add Members dialog
Click Add Members.
The Group administration dialog opens with a person-search field on the left and a set of permission options on the right.

Step 3 — Search for a person
Start typing a first or last name in the search box. infoodle searches across all contacts and shows matches as you type. The matching text is highlighted in each result, and the contact's address is shown underneath the name where infoodle has one — useful for distinguishing between people with the same name.

Archived contacts appear in the results with (Archived) after their name. You can still add an archived contact, but in most cases this means you have the wrong record — check before adding.
Step 4 — Add the person to the "Users to add" list
Click on a search result. The person moves to a Users to add list on the left, and the search box clears so you can find another person. You can add several people in one go — they all get the same permission level when you save.

To remove someone from the list before saving, click the small x next to their name.
Step 5 — Choose the permission level
Pick a permission for the people you're adding. They all get the same level in this dialog. If you need different levels for different people, save each set separately.
- Administrator — full management of the group. Administrators can add and remove members, change the group's settings, and manage subgroups.
- Full member — participates in the group's activities. Full members can be assigned tasks, included in rosters, and (if the group is set to "Can see content") see content shared with the group.
- View only — can see the group and its content but cannot contribute. Useful for people who need awareness without being expected to take part.
If the group is a subgroup of another group, a second panel headed Permissions in parent groups appears. infoodle needs to know what permission the new members get in the parent group too. Pick a level there before saving.

Step 6 — Save
Click Save in the dialog footer.
If your organisation has workflows set to run when group‑membership changes occur, infoodle will prompt you to choose which workflows to activate before the dialog closes. Select the workflows you want to run and confirm.
Once saved, the dialog closes and the group page refreshes. The new members appear in the member list with the permission you chose.
Common errors

No permission radio is selected. Pick Administrator, Full member, or View only and save again.
Please choose the level of access to give these people to the parent group

The date joined is prior to the current date joined for this connection
You're re-adding someone whose previous membership has a more recent "date joined" recorded. Use the contact's History on the group page to clean up the older membership records first.
